This project is a recipe book for cherry pie designed entirely without verbal instruction, relying solely on icons to communicate each step. Inspired by the aesthetic and tone of the Portal video game series, the design mimics the sterile, clinical environment of Aperture Science, where all user guidance is delivered through pictograms and visual cues. Each page functions like a test chamber, with sequential diagrams guiding the user through preparation, mixing, baking, and serving. The challenge was to create a visually logical and complete recipe without using any text, requiring careful attention to icon clarity, flow, and humor in line with Portal’s darkly scientific style.
